Are Gas Guzzlers Only Unpopular in North America?

gmc trucksMany nations look at the United States as being one of the biggest offenders when it comes to environmental pollution. But is this truly the case?

When talking about carbon emissions, the United States is making great strides in helping to create a cleaner environment. Auto manufacturers all over the country are working to make cleaner vehicles with better fuel efficiency and some are even working on electric cars. But not every country in the world is following suit.

This article, for instance, talks about how large SUVs and vehicles that aren’t fuel-efficient are just as popular as ever. In fact, they’re even becoming more popular!

That’s why several automakers showcased some of their largest trucks at the recent Beijing Auto Show earlier this year. Even General Motors made the less-efficient Escalade model the center of attention. But here’s some even more staggering statistics to put the entire China market into perspective:

• Analysts say the auto market in China has increased by about 20-25 percent.
• The SUV and truck market alone has recently increased by nearly 50 percent!

This is good news for automakers who have struggled to sell these popular vehicles in markets like the United States, Europe and Japan. One of the reasons for the increased sales is due to China’s thriving economy, which has grown by about 10 percent each year for the last five years. The stock market and housing situation is doing great, too. As a result, there are more billionaires and millionaires in the nation than ever before.

Don’t worry, though. For now, you can still get your favorite large vehicle at your local GMC truck dealer. If you like trucks, you’d better hurry before the environmentalists take over!
