GMC Hybrids Great for Towing

gmc dealerOne of the main complaints about hybrid trucks is that they don’t have the towing power that gasoline-powered vehicles have. But with recent innovations and technology, that’s simply not true anymore.

GMC has released hybrid versions of its popular full-size Tahoe and Yukon models. The rear-wheel versions of these trucks can tow 6,200 pounds and the four-wheel drive versions can tow about 6,000 pounds. That’s nearly twice as much as its nearest competitors. Those hybrid trucks can only tow about 3,500 pounds.

What does this mean for you? In a nutshell, it means you can still own a GMC SUV without really sacrificing any towing power. You can still tow your boat to the lake each weekend or haul some heavy stuff for those weekend projects with no problem at all.

One reviewer had this to say about the new and improved hybrid SUVs: “Some consumers may wish that full-size SUVs would go to the corner of the scrap yard and die, but the fact is many folks use them to tow their campers or boats. If they are going to do it anyway, it makes sense to do it more efficiently, and that’s what Chevrolet has achieved with the Tahoe Hybrid.”

If you didn’t think you could ever own a hybrid SUV because it simply won’t do the job you need it to do, think again. Visit your local GMC dealer and see these new vehicles for sale. They might just surprise you.

Five Things You Should Know about Owning a Hearse

new yorkMany people have the dream of owning a hearse as their personal car. A funeral hearse is a picture of elegance with a sense of curious morbidity mixed in with it. But owning a hearse isn’t for everybody. Before you go to a local funeral hearse dealer, consider these five things.

1. Gas Mileage
Funeral hearses aren’t known for their superior gas mileage. It’s even worse when you have an occupied casket riding around with you. But the thrill and mystique you’ll generate is worth the extra gas money.

2. Weird Looks
Face it. People aren’t accustomed to seeing hearses drive down the road. Some people have superstitions against them and others might simply think you’re disrespectful. But those weird looks you get from neighbors and friends often make it worth owning one.

3. Halloween Demand
If you own a hearse, expect a huge number of calls around Halloween. People might want to rent your hearse as a decoration or maybe even as a way to travel to the various “haunted” attractions and holiday parties around town. You can pick up a few extra bucks along the way, too.

4. Wondering What People Think
This probably isn’t a big deal to you if you’re the type of person who wants to own a hearse.

5. Parking
Hearses are typically longer and wider than the average car. In fact, you may have some trouble fitting it into your garage. But parking at the mall during Christmastime or other busy times of the year may pose a problem.

Owning a hearse can be fun and exciting if you’re the type of person that likes to make people take a second look. The experiences you’ll have will be great. Just be prepared for a few minor inconveniences along the way.
